Choose a Template

The template provides the structure and the design of your website. If required we can also help you choose a template during your consultation.

Each template demo has a link to show you a live version of the what the website will look like. Remember that the stock images, logo, and content on each template will be replaced with data relevant to your company.

Each template has the following in common:

Article area

The article area is where we will add your content. What you are reading now is contained within the article area for this web page. Once we have entered the appropriate content you will be able to login to your web site and change this content whenever you like. This is a great function if you wish to write some more content , add an image, or anything else that you want to do.

Knowing what to put on your website is sometimes easy and sometimes not. During the consultation we will help you identify what to focus on in order for your website to be effective.

We have populated the article areas with lorem Ipsum dummy text so you can see where the article is on the template.

Module Positions

Every template has different module positions. For example the menu structure will usually sit in the "left" or "right" module position. When we develop your site you may have a requirement to have your contact details to be shown on every page outside of the article area. This is where we would use a module to enter this data. Another example of where modules are commonly used is to link to other pages within your site. For example is you have 2 core products you may wish to have an image of those products on the home page and use them as links to the relevant product page on your site.

When looking through the templates be sure to think of the structure of the site that you want as well as the design of the template.

Bespoke Template Design

Sometimes a template meets all the structural requirements but not design requirements. this is not a problem as once you decide on a template that is correct structural we can take a design specification and redesign the template to suit your bespoke requirements.

Decide the number of pages that you need

A great way to decide how many pages you need is to ask these questions:

  • Who do I expect to visit my site?
  • What information do they need to know?

You can then break down the information that visitors need to know into specific menu items.

Pick a domain name

You can use our domain name checker to see if your required domain name is available.

A domain name is usually the same as the company it represents or sometimes clients choose descriptive domain names to help with Search Engine Rankings e.g. motbristol.co.uk.

Graphic Design

Once we have a suitable template to start building on we will incorporate your company logo.

We can also create custom graphics for your website as required. An example would be a header containing images and text.

Image Management

All websites use images to enhance user enjoyment of browsing your site. We can either use images that you already own or we can purchase the copyright to use professional images from iStockphoto.com.

Search Engine Optimisation

All of websites are search engine friendly meaning that at the very least you will well ranked for your chosen domain name.

During consultation we will also understand what your key areas are and update your site accordingly.

Domain Name Registration

If we are purchasing and managing your domain name for you we will register it in your company name and advise when it is due for renewal.

Demo Site

Once we have a complete understanding of your requirements we will build your proof site. This will be live for you to view as the build progresses.

Once you are happy that the site is complete we will transfer the site to your chosen domain name and it will be live on the Internet.

Final Steps

Now that you website is live we give you access to management tools:

Browser Compatibility

All of our websites are designed to be 100% compatible with major web browsers.

Website Technology

We build all of our sites using the powerful Joomla! content management system and host them on our enterprise standard Apache webserver.
